CLASSROOM PLAN
Dear Families,
I have developed a classroom discipline plan that will allow every student guidance in making good decisions about his or her behavior. They will have an opportunity to learn in a positive, nurturing environment. Your child deserves the most positive educational climate possible for his or her growth. I know that together we will make a difference in this process. The plan below outlines our classroom rules, positive rewards and consequences for appropriate and inappropriate behavior.
Rules
1. Be a good listener.
2. Follow directions quickly.
3. Work quietly. Do not disturb others who are working.
4. Respect others. Be kind in your words and actions.
5. Respect school and personal property.
6. Work and play safely.
To encourage students to follow our rules, I will recognize appropriate behavior with praise, positive notes and phone calls home.
However, if a student chooses to break a rule, the following steps will be taken:
First offense - verbal reminder of class rules
2nd time - move paw number to warning
3rd time - move paw number to 5 min. loss of recess and a note home
4th time - move paw number to 10 min. loss of recess and a phone call or note home
5th or severe misconduct - send to principal
Please discuss this plan with your child. Make sure that he/she clearly understands what is expected in our classroom. Please contact me if you have any questions about this plan or any other matter.
Thank you,
Amy Herman
